Is to create a sustainable world where young people, especially girls, are actively involved in promoting climate justice and protecting the environment
Is to protect the natural environment and empower young people to inspire change and promote innovations and skills that can contribute to a sustainable planet.
In the heart of Africa, a climate action revolution is unfolding. Fridays for Future Uganda (FFU) is at the forefront of this movement, igniting a passion for climate justice and empowering a generation of young people to take action
We're shaping the Future
Fridays for Future Uganda (FFF-Uganda) is an independent youth led organization under the chapter of the global Fridays for Future movement initiated by Greta Thunberg. It is a youth-led climate justice movement focused on advocating for environmental protection, sustainability, and climate action within Uganda.
Founded by youth activists, notably Hilda Flavia Nakabuye, who became a leading voice for climate justice in East Africa.
It mobilizes young people to demand stronger climate policies, oppose fossil fuel projects like the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline), and protect Uganda’s natural resources.
Our strategy is twofold: resisting fossil fuel projects and its enablers, and advocating for a world powered by the sun, wind and people.
Our Team
Come join us on the journey to make work meaningful.
Join Fridays for Future Uganda in petitioning the East African Community Parliament to halt the EACOP project. This pipeline endangers 100,000+ lives, threatens Murchison Falls, Lake Victoria, and our climate. Act now to protect our future!
