I still remember the day I decided to take action against the plastic pollution plaguing my community in Mbuya 2. With the support of the Fridays For Future Uganda’s Youth Climate Mentorship program, I founded a community-based initiative that transforms plastic waste into beautiful artifacts and ornaments.

Student and community organizer
I still get goosebumps thinking about the day I joined the Fridays For Future Uganda movement through the Youth Climate Mentorship program. It was like a switch had been flipped, and suddenly I was on fire to make a difference! The program taught me so much more than just facts and figures—it showed me that I had the power to inspire and empower others. I started small, mentoring groups of young people aged 13–20.
