Our Projects
At Fridays for Future Uganda (FFFU), our projects are more than initiatives they are bold steps toward environmental justice, youth empowerment, and community resilience. From amplifying climate education to supporting women in agriculture, every project is designed to create local impact with global meaning.
We believe that real change happens when people come together with knowledge, passion, and purpose. That’s why our programs focus on advocacy, capacity-building, and inclusive action leaving no voice behind in the fight for a livable future.
"Locally rooted, globally inspired — climate action for people and planet.

This flagship program mentors young activists, students, and environmental enthusiasts in climate science, leadership, advocacy, and digital campaigning. Each year, a new cohort graduates ready to lead local and national climate action.

We conduct Community Legal Empowerment Camps in marginalized communities impacted by environmentally-harmful and large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). These camps aim to empower Project-Affected Persons (PAPs), who often face unfair compensation or outright loss of land and livelihoods, with the legal knowledge and practical tools needed to defend their rights. In regions like Kiboga, where land disputes fuel poverty, displacement, and gender-based violence (GBV), these camps serve as a critical intervention to restore agency and justice.

We champion climate justice by confronting the root causes of environmental inequality. Through protests, policy dialogues, and public education, we demand fair and inclusive climate solutions that prioritize vulnerable communities.

Participants gain rights awareness, learning how to navigate legal systems to seek redress. They also receive training in documenting and reporting violations safely and effectively, ensuring evidence is preserved for advocacy or legal action. Additionally, the program provides guidance on verifying land ownership and navigating bureaucratic processes, helping communities secure their property rights. By equipping individuals with these skills, the initiative strengthens resilience against exploitation and fosters long-term community empowerment.
Through these transformative projects, Fridays for Future Uganda continues to ignite a climate-conscious movement grounded in justice, equity, and community resilience. Every action — whether in the fields, the courts, or the classrooms — is a step toward a more sustainable and inclusive future.
As we move forward, we invite everyone — youth, women, educators, policymakers, and allies — to join us. Together, we are not just fighting for change; we are building it.
Join us. Speak up. Act now. Because the climate can’t wait and neither can we.
